ABOUT CAMP KNOCK KNOCK

“Camp Knock Knock is a weekend camp for families with children who have experienced the death of a loved one.
Designed to provide open support and guidance, families receive opportunities for growth & healing with the help of skilled counselors & specially-trained volunteers. Children & adults are divided into peer groups to explore the natural grieving process & learn from each other through facilitated group activities.

Camp Knock Knock began in 1998 as the signature project of the Junior League of Champlain Valley in collaboration with the Hospice & Palliative Care Program at UVM Health Network Home Health & Hospice, formerly the VNA. Due to Covid-related budget cuts, funding for Camp Knock Knock had ceased. Several community members have joined together to continue the legacy of Camp Knock Knock, which is now made possible solely through grant funding, community donations, & community partnerships.

Camp is named in memory of Alisha Reis, who loved knock knock jokes. It remains an honor to celebrate her undaunted spirit and the endless love she shared with others.”
